Woman accused of hitting and killing bicyclist while drunk pleads no contest

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist while drunk pleaded no contest to her charges in the crash.

According to police, 23-year-old Leann Blackhorse hit and killed a bicyclist near Gibson and Yale in 2023. The bicyclist suffered from major injuries which caused them to die on the scene. APD learned of the Blackhorse’s identity through a relative who had been informed of the crash. Police say driver inattention and intoxication were factors in the crash. A sentencing date for Blackhorse has not yet been set.
