Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – The city is inviting residents to hike and learn more about a popular Albuquerque open space this September. The Parks and Recreation Department will host a “Foothills Wild Guided Hike”, scheduled for Sunday starting at 8 a.m. at the Elena Gallegos Open Space. The department will offer insights into the flora, archaeology, and even the importance of water in the Sandia Mountains. City officials say the hike will take about two to three hours, so bring water, snacks, and comfortable footwear.
