Albuquerque middle school students resume class after smoke scare

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Monday, an Albuquerque middle school was evacuated. Staff members had reported seeing smoke.

Fire crews said the fire alarm was pulled just after 9 a.m. When crews arrived, they saw a light haze near an HVAC unit that was under maintenance.

After 40 minutes of trying to source the smoke, authorities said it stopped. No students or fire crew members were injured. The cause of the smoke is still unknown.
