Runners celebrate Halloween early with Great Pumpkin Chase

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Saturday, racers of the Duke City were on the run, but not from any ghosts or goblins, they were hitting the pavement for the 21st Great Pumpkin Chase.

The annual event lets runners choose from a 10K, 5K, and kids-K race. Hundreds gathered in Albuquerque with some racers wearing their spookiest outfits.

Officials said guests at the event were brought together over their enjoyment of staying healthy throughout the year.

All runners received an event t-shirt and running medal, and there was even a costume contest for best dressed
