ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Some Albuquerque neighborhoods are still trying to get their power back on nearly two days after a winter snowstorm blanketed New Mexico. “Probably the biggest problem that I have faced is I’m not getting my morning cup of coffee. I didn’t realize I had a problem, but apparently, I’m a caffeine addict,” said North Valley resident Michael Harding.

PNM said most of the customers who are still without power in the Albuquerque area are centered in the North Valley and Corrales. Statewide, more than 5,000 PNM customers are still without electricity as of 4 p.m. on Friday. Those numbers were as high as 50,000 customers on Thursday.
“We have a lot of elderly people that live in the neighborhood. My concern is if they know that this is going to be a problem with the electricity, why don’t they send some people out to make sure that everybody is doing okay,” said Ben, another North Valley resident.
