ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s been nearly two years since a shooting at a house party killed Albuquerque Academy student Jada Gonzales. Now, one of the suspects in her murder is facing additional charges related to over half a dozen shootings in 2023.
In early June, the Albuquerque Police Department was investigating a deadly shooting at a westside park. They eventually arrested one suspect, charging him with murder. That investigation also led police to Julian Prieb. While Prieb was cleared as a suspect in that shooting, police say they were able to connect him to several others within just a couple weeks of each other.

In a new criminal complaint, Albuquerque police say now 20-year-old Julian Prieb was involved in seven different shootings around the Albuquerque metro area in 2023. They say all of those shootings took place from late May to mid-June. Police said Prieb’s phone records put him in the vicinity of each of the shootings, even sending snapchat videos of one of the shootings to a friend.
