NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The National Weather Service has issued a Dust Storm Warning for the Albuquerque-metro area. There are currently wind gusts up to 62 mph in the Albuquerque area with widespread blowing dust. Visibility as low as a quarter mile has also been reported at Double Eagle and two miles at the Albuquerque Sunport, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind causes zero visibility, road closures for parts of southern New Mexico
A dust storm warning is in effect until 5 p.m. for I-25, I-40, and US-550 near Albuquerque.
There is also a dust storm warning near Roswell, Dexter, Hagerman, and Lake Arthur.
The wind has also caused multiple road closrues throughout the state.
