Man with extensive criminal history pleads guilty to 2022 murder in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man with an extensive criminal history pleaded guilty to murdering another man in exchange for money, drugs and a car in 2022 .

Freddy Granger admitted to killing Gary Escareno in a murder-for-hire plot . Escareno was found shot to death in a car near the corner of Candelaria and Juan Tabo in Albuquerque. Investigators say Granger was paid by Martin Trujillo to kill Escareno over a money dispute. After his guilty plea, Granger faces a possible life sentence. He is already serving a federal sentence after being caught selling guns to an undercover ATF agent and for an incident in Carlsbad where he fled from police, stole a vehicle and crashing into another car…
