LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A Las Cruces man will spend more than three years in prison for having a gun illegally. Officials said Gabriel Lionel Garcia had an AR-15 style rifle, ammo, a 60 round drum magazine, marijuana, and $2,244 in cash.
Police investigate fatal shooting in northwest Albuquerque
Officials said they had been investigating Garcia since 2023 and attempted to stop his vehicle in 2024 but he fled. He was later arrested at his home. He was not allowed to have a gun and was sentenced to 37 months in prison.
