Roswell N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with four other agencies, arrested 48 undocumented migrants during a week-long investigation in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Roswell.
The 48 individuals who were arrested remained in the country illegally or were charged or convicted of serious crimes while in the United States.
According to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, ICE, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshal Service operated the week-long operation on March 8.
Of those apprehended, 20 have been arrested or convicted of serious criminal offenses, such as homicide, criminal sexual penetration, sexual assault, battery on a household member, aggravated battery, drug trafficking, burglary- forced entry, driving under the influence, and shoplifting, according to the statement.
