ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Wednesday, the Motel 6 off Avenida Cesar Chavez is no longer a motel but police are there for a different reason. It’s temporarily being used for trainings, giving officers and deputies a rare, real-life feel for what they face in the field.

“On real deployments, our dogs are exposed to things like this, like dirty rooms and different kinds of odors, but SWAT isn’t always able to use their tools, such as the rook, to be able to work on breaching skills and things of that nature,” said Stphen Cotton.
