Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival comes to Expo New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Manuel Lujan Jr. Exhibit Complex was transformed with over 150 artisans for the 33rd Annual Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival. Experts say the spring show ranks among the top 100 fine art shows in the country.

Everything from handmade jewelry to woodwork and fine art was available to take home. Organizers say festivals like this are important as they give the creative community a chance to network.

Public backlash as officials hold meeting on future of Expo New Mexico

“Just sharing a passion for the arts and getting out and enjoying people and ideas,” says Albuquerque artist Alan Tillery. “These are very important, just to get out and be able to be in the public eye and share our visions, our art with people and just have a good time.”
