APD cracks down on reckless driving in downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is cracking down on the mayhem and reckless driving that springs up on the weekends downtown. During APD’s latest operation, a motorcyclist thought he could outrun police. Little did he know, officers never lost sight of him.

Officers tried to catch a motorcyclist, who they said was driving recklessly Sunday night. “We observed this motorcycle initially doing donuts in the area of the Bank of Albuquerque and then notified officers of it,” said Sgt. Vicente Martinez, APD.

Sgt. Vicente Martinez recounted the pursuit, but from a different perspective, “We try to fly high and kind of be out of the area. A lot of times people don’t even know we’re looking at them.”…
