Dust Storms, Winds, and Dry Weather Set to Hit Texas and Southern New Mexico

EL PASO, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for El Paso, Dona Ana, and Luna Counties due to high winds and dust storms expected this evening and tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service office in El Paso, TX. Strong winds of 20-25 mph, with gusts reaching 35 mph, will create near-critical fire weather conditions through Sunday. Dust plumes from Antelope Wells could reduce visibility across the region, especially in El Paso and southern New Mexico.

The rest of the week will bring more dry, breezy conditions with stronger winds expected Tuesday and Wednesday. A slight cool-down is forecast for the middle of the week, but dry and windy conditions will continue into Thursday and Friday. Keep an eye on potential showers by the weekend.
