Watch live: Albuquerque police speak on two February officer-involved shootings

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) is holding a conference to speak on two separate officer-involved shootings that occurred this February. The conference is set to begin at 2 p.m. on Monday and will be live-streamed at the top of this article.

The first shooting to be discussed occurred on Sunday, Feb. 23, at around 1 p.m. on Mountain Road near Juan Tabo and Lomas boulevards. According to APD, officers responded to a 911 callout regarding a domestic dispute, a man fled the scene, and a wrestling match ensued. APD said the man was armed, and officers gave commands to drop the gun before shots were fired. One person died in the shooting, and no officers were injured. APD has not yet named the man involved, but according to APD Chief Medina, he was a convicted felon and should not have had a firearm…
