APD makes arrest in 2024 road rage homicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have arrested a 17-year-old for the 2024 fatal shooting of Jose Gonzalez during a road rage incident. Police say 32-year-old Gonzalez was gunned down just after midnight on September 15 in the area of Eubank Blvd. and Copper Ave. NE.

According to APD, security video from a nearby business showed a bright light coming from a black Chrysler 300 pointing toward a Dodge Ram pickup as both vehicles drove south on Eubank. Gonzalez was in the front passenger seat of the pickup and was shot several times. Gonzalez later died from his injuries at a hospital.

After two mistrials, charges dropped against former Albuquerque police officer accused of false imprisonment

After a Crime Stoppers bulletin, homicide detectives learned about a 16-year-old who was dropped off at another hospital the night of the homicide. One of the vehicles that dropped off the teen was connected to Nassir Williams, who was 16 years old at the time.

Using phone and social media data, detectives located the black Chrysler 300 that was involved in the murder. Evidence was discovered inside the vehicle that further connected the vehicle to the fatal shooting…
