Friday’s Five Facts

[1] Former NM judge, wife arrested following alleged Tren de Aragua member investigation – Former Dona Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife Nancy were arrested Thursday. This comes after Homeland Security apprehended their tenant, Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, for being in possession of firearms. According to the criminal complaint, Ortega-Lopez had been living in the country illegally since 2023 and authorities claim there are indications that he’s affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang. Cano maintains he and his wife had no knowledge of Ortega-Lopez alleged gang affiliation. Cano is facing a tampering with evidence charge and his wife is facing a conspiracy to tamper charge.

The new facility is equipped to filter out arsenic, providing clean water to 80,000 customers in the immediate area. The water authority said they currently have four small arsenic treatment facilities in Albuquerque, but this new facility will be the largest.

Temperatures will reach the high 50s to the 60s in the higher terrain, while everywhere else will be very sunny with temperatures reaching the 70s to 80s with a few areas reaching around 90 degrees to the south…
