ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Smoke was billowing Friday on the Big-I after a car burst into flames. Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene on I-40 westbound near 6th Street around 4:30 p.m.

In video, crews can be seen hosing the car down and putting out the flames. AFR said the car is a total loss and suspects it was a mechanical issue. They said no one was injured.
