ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — ABQ RIDE is looking for volunteer ambassadors to help passengers with accessibility needs, navigation and more. Anyone from 18 to 80 years old is welcome to apply.

Two types of ambassadors are being sought. The first – ambassador navigators who circulate bus stops, transit centers, and buses to help with scheduling information and logistics. The second – care navigators who are interested in psychology, social services, and providing resources to those experiencing substance abuse as well as homelessness. ABQ RIDE says this is what the program aims to do:
- “Help riders feel confident with navigation
- Provide directional information
- Promote Safety
- Welcoming presence on buses
- Improve efficiency
- Reduce Confusion
- Foster sense of community”
The ambassador program launched at the beginning of April.
