Moisture has been moving into the state this morning and with the increased moisture in the air, more thunderstorms will begin to develop across the state this afternoon, especially around central and northern New Mexico. There is also a good chance for rain and thunderstorms in Albuquerque by the early evening hours. Rain and thunderstorm chances will return again Saturday afternoon across New Mexico, but storms will be more isolated.
South/southwest winds pick up across western and central New Mexico Sunday afternoon with gusts around 30 to 50 mph as a stronger storm system moves into the state. This push the moisture back to the east with more showers and storms developing Sunday afternoon across northern, central, and eastern New Mexico.
