ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A dog rescued from disturbing conditions is recovering this weekend, after someone in the area found him tied up near the mesa in the south valley. “He’ll be evaluated, give him some time and see how he comes around, what his adoptability is going to be like,” said Meagan Rose, an Animal Service Officer with Bernalillo County.
When animal service officers responded to the scene, they saw a dog tied up with some kind of cord to a structure. “He was tied up with like an electric cord to kind of a partial remnant of truck,” Rose said.
According to Bernalillo County’s Animal Care Services, the dog was found in Albuquerque’s south valley, near Pajarito Mesa, after residents in the area sent in reports about the animal. They say the dog was found with no food or water.

Thankfully, a nearby resident fixed that as they waited for the county to respond on scene. “There was some food and water there from the citizens that were also there, but he had not been left with anything by whoever had tied him up there,” Rose explained…
