Albuquerque man sentenced for raping teenager in 2018

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man will spend the next decade behind bars after being convicted of raping a teenager nearly seven years ago. Last month, a jury found Darrell Castillo guilty of raping a then 17-year-old in 2018 while he was dating the victim’s mother.

8th officer pleads guilty for role in DWI Unit scandal

The state used DNA evidence to convict him. Judge Courtney Weaks sentenced Castillo to 10 years behind bars. When he’s released, he’ll have to register as a sex offender.
