Northwest Albuquerque park gets ‘long-awaited renovations’

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A northwest Albuquerque park is getting some much-needed upgrades, according to the city.

Renovations are currently underway at the 24-year-old three-acre Hunter’s Run Park, located at 10300 Chandler Drive NW near Golf Course Road and Ellison Drive. The park will be receiving a brand new playground with shade, picnic tables, park benches, and trash receptacles.

“The park’s original playground structures, benches, and picnic tables were showing signs of aging and wear. Neighbors reached out to my office to see what could be done. I was happy to provide money from my set-aside funds to replace the park’s worn playground equipment, picnic tables, park benches, trash receptacles, and playground surfaces,” District 5 City Councilor Dan Lewis stated in a May press release.
