[1] Suspect charged with arson in Los Lunas bosque fires – The man suspected of setting the two Los Lunas wildfires over the weekend is now behind bars after turning himself in to authorities. Jacob LaHair, 31, was booked into the Valencia County Detention Center and is now facing a charge of both arson and criminal damage to property. Officials interviewed people and reviewed surveillance footage to determine how the fire started. They say evidence led them to LahHair, but have not released any other details.

[2] Bystander injured in shootout in Albuquerque sues suspect and law enforcement – A bystander who was injured in a police shooting at Rudy’s is suing the man officers were after and law enforcement. In June 2023, APD says a man had drug-induced mental health crisis outside of the Rudy’s on Carlisle. Police say he started shooting, hitting two bystanders and police shot back. One of the bystanders is suing the suspect, Desert Wolf Security, APD and NMSP. Police say the suspect’s shots were the ones that injured the bystander, the lawsuit claims, police shot “wildly” and were “reckless” in their response.

[3] Fewer storms and hotter weather around New Mexico – Drier weather returns to the entire state Thursday morning. Scattered to isolated storm chances will continue into the end of this week for southern, central, and eastern New Mexico. Drier weather will move into northwest and northern New Mexico as temperatures will be heating up. Even drier air moves into the state this weekend.
