ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque is adding a new feature to its Gateway Center for the homeless. On Thursday, the city showed off its new patio space at the Gibson Health Hub. It has shade canopies, tables and benches, a bike rack, and a dog park.

The city said the patio gives people a place to rest while they get the services they need. “This is a hospital, and the nearest park is quite a ways away, so having an outdoor space to be able to meet your needs while you are rebuilding, working toward changes in your life is so important,” said Gilbert Ramirez, Director of the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Health, Housing, and Homelessness.
Crews will also be installing planter boxes for a community garden…
