ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque has officially opened a new open space in the East Mountains. Officials came together to hold an opening celebration for the Route 66 Open Space Trailhead.

The area is a major access point to the Manzano, Four Hills and Tijeras open space trail system. “From this trailhead you can already access over five miles of trail, and you can literally walk from Central all the way south to Four Hills, Manzano open space. So it’s a beautiful connection,” said CABQ Parks and Recreation director Dave Simon.
