Holly Holm wins fight in her return to boxing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm returned to boxing for the first time in 12 years on Saturday. Holm took on undefeated Mexican fighter Yolanda Vega during the preliminary fights of the Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. card.

The ten-round bout went the distance, but Holm controlled the pace for much of the fight. Neither fighter registered a knockdown, but Vega did slip and fall to the mat in the fifth round. Holm did plenty of damage with her left jab.

Holm won the fight by unanimous decision. The judges all scored the fight 100-90.

Following the fight, Holm, 43, said that she wants to fight for a world title. She has no plans to retire in the immediate future…
