ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A continued crunch on pharmacies is being felt in Albuquerque with yet another big box retailer closing its doors soon, once again, in one of the busiest parts of town. The CVS pharmacy at the corner of San Mateo Blvd. and Montgomery Blvd. is shutting its doors in the middle of July, something customers say is another unwanted surprise.

“And there was no CVS in Nob Hill and so we found this one and I walked in and they said yes, if we can fill it we’ll be happy to do it and so they filled it and they gave me a three-month supply but now I have to hunt down another CVS,” said Naomi Yavnehklos, just moved to Nob Hill.
That store now has signs on its front door saying it will close on July 15. The national company hasn’t said specifically why this store is closing, but said in a statement Monday that they evaluate closures based on things like local market dynamics, population shifts, and a community’s store density…
