New Mexico Wildlife Center mourns death of bobcat

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Wildlife Center is mourning the loss of its bobcat. Joni the bobcat arrived at the wildlife center in 2006 as an orphaned newborn kitten, where she required intensive care and rehabilitation.

NMWC said she went on to become a beloved ambassador animal for her kind, spending the last 19 years helping educate New Mexicans on her species. Joni passed away on Saturday, surrounded by her care team.
