More charges for Hope Christian School teacher accused of abusing students

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico elementary school teacher charged with abusing an 11-year-old student is facing more charges involving a second student. Kelly McEachran has been a teacher at Hope Christian School for over three decades.

Back in June, he was arrested while on a trip in Idaho. Investigators say that a young girl came forward in April, telling her parents that Mr. McEachran had been inappropriately touching her for months.

The accusations made news around the state, and a different potential victim saw that reporting. This second victim is now a teenager but says that she was inappropriately touched two times by McEachran when she was an elementary student. According to a new criminal complaint, one of those incidents occurred in front of her classmates.
