Man accused of breaking into homes in Albuquerque appears in court

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The suspected burglar who prompted a police manhunt faced a judge for the first time since his arrest. Police arrested Michael Salas on Monday after they said he and a woman broke into a rental property near Gibson Blvd. and Yale Blvd. The two took off, but police say Salas fled into a neighborhood and broke into another property looking to hide.

Shiprock man charged in connection to kidnapping, assault

The tenant told KRQE News 13 that he managed to get his gun and force Salas to leave. Officers eventually took Salas into custody. Prosecutors have filed a motion to keep Salas in custody until trial.
