ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Tuesday evening in northwest Albuquerque. The incident began around 4 p.m. near Calle Nortena and Wagon Mound Drive NW, where police responded to a domestic dispute.
According to APD Chief Harold Medina, the man involved was reportedly threatening suicide and may have been under the influence of pills. A police negotiator worked with the man for about 90 minutes before the suspect fired several rounds and barricaded himself inside a home.
Gunfire was later seen coming from a second-story window, followed by a brief exchange of gunfire with officers. The man was found injured and later died at the scene…
