Former Golden Pride employee who stabbed his coworker to death is sentenced

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The former Golden Pride employee who stabbed and killed his coworker was sentenced to 20 years behind bars Monday. Ethan Sheppard, 38, previously pleaded no contest to second degree murder.

Security camera footage from the 2024 incident shows Sheppard agitated in the kitchen and eventually grabbing what police said is a knife. Then stabbing his coworker, Justin Husted, just out of frame of the camera. One of the employees working at the time, spoke in court about how the incident impacted the business and the people working there. Judge Joseph Montano sentenced Sheppard to the maximum time allowed under the plea deal, 20 years behind bars…
