In a statement sent from the LaMotte’s family attorney, the family claims the university did not respond in a timely fashion. They said LaMotte’s mother had called 911, believing her son may have been shot. She said hours passed before police arrived and found his body. They are now investigating the events that led up to the boy’s death.
