ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Fourteen businesses that were served violations last month per the Downtown Vacant Premises Ordinance could be coming be facing fines next. These businesses were found not to be in compliance with the ordinance and were served violations the week of July 7. They now need to either show they’re trying to renovate, sell, or rent. Otherwise, they’ll be fined later this month.
“Out of 137 properties that were reviewed for the ordinance, 14 notice of violations were issued to property owners that were not in compliance,” Albuquerque Planning Department Deputy Director of Code Enforcement Jeremy Keiser said. “Since then, we’ve had two properties come into compliance, which brings us down to 12.
