Homicide charges filed against APD officer accused of hitting pedestrian

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Prosecutors are now pursuing homicide charges against an Albuquerque police officer accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian. The officer was riding a motorcycle, but was not on duty at the time of the accident.

Daniel Trujillo passed away earlier this month after he was in a coma at UNM hospital.

Police say APD officer Ezekiel Florez was driving a motorcycle that hit Trujillo and took off. He reportedly did not come back to the scene until hours later, when he was arrested…
