Albuquerque man sentenced to 26 years in prison for 2023 murder

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man convicted of shooting and killing a friend of his ex-girlfriend will spend more than two decades behind bars. Chase Cuffie was found guilty of second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

In July 2023, Cuffie was hiding in a closet on his ex’s patio at her apartment near Coors Blvd. and Paseo. Craig Dixon was with Cuffie’s ex and another friend when Cuffie came out and shot Dixon, killing him. Judge Brett Loveless sentenced Cuffie to 26 years behind bars.
