ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The City of Albuquerque is making use of sprinklers across five local parks on Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures are expected to heat up. The free, family-fun is part of “Operation Cooldown.”

- Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Briar Ridge Park at 7601 Mallard NW
- Alamosa Park at 1100 Bataan SW
- Chelwood Park at 13205 San Juan NE
- 4-H Park at 1401 Menaul NW
- Ridgecrest Park at 820 Ridgecrest SE
- Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Redlands Park at 5121 Sequoia NW
- Loma del Norte Park at 7511 Burke NE
- Singing Arrow Park at 12929 Piru SE
- Dennis Chavez Park at 715 Kathryn SE
- Aztec Park at 3400 Moon NE
Another way to stay cool is through the city’s various splash pads. Here is a list of locations with operating hours:
- Alamosa – daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Oct. 12
- Civic Plaza – daily 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Oct. 12
- North Domingo Baca – daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Oct. 12
- Wells Park – Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 1.
On an additional note, all City-owned indoor pools are returning to off-season hours. Outdoor pools will operate on a reduced schedule through Labor Day due to less demand, staffing, and funding as school begins. Find the schedule below:
- Rio Grande Pool – open weekdays for lap swim 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., (closed Aug. 5); final day of the season is Sept. 1
- Eisenhower Pool – closed weekdays; open weekends through Sept. 1
- Sierra Vista Pool – closed weekdays; open weekends through Sept. 1
- Wilson Pool – closed weekdays; open weekends through Sept. 1
- Montgomery Pool – closed for the season.
- East San Jose Pool – closed for the season.
