Man who stole thousands worth of copper given no jail time

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho man will not spend time behind bars for stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper from his own work please.

Jack Ming, was a facilities manager at Labatt Food services in Albuquerque when he admitted to ordering double the amount of copper and then reselling it over the course of years. Last month Ming pleaded guilty to embezzlement. The copper was worth around $400,000 and Ming sold it for less than a fourth of its value. Judge Emeterio Rudolfo sentenced Ming to five years of supervised probation and ordered he pay back part of what he stole from his former employer.
