Teen pleads guilty for killing a man while trying to break into his car

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the four teens accused of killing a man while they were breaking into his car took a plea deal Friday morning. Yaquez McKenzie pleaded guilty to murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Court documents claim McKenzie, along with, Andres Pedroza, Juanito Montoya, and Zane Dougherty attempted to break into Adrian Vallejos’ car outside his home in southwest Albuquerque. Documents claim Vallejos confronted the teens while they were attempting to break into his car and they opened fire, killing him. McKenzie is facing between 12 and 21 years behind bars as part of his plea deal…
