Albuquerque man charged after toddler found roaming street

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is charged with child abuse after his three-year-old daughter was found wandering alone on a busy street. According to the criminal complaint, the toddler was seen near Pennsylvania and Phoenix in northeast Albuquerque in the middle of the afternoon, where temperatures reached over 100 degrees.

Police say once they heard the call, they requested emergency medical services to come as well. The child was taken in by CYFD while police searched for her parents.

Police say they saw a man and a woman with an infant walking towards the house. When police approached the couple, 31-year-old Edward Davila told the woman to run into the house before he was arrested.
