Day care to stop transporting students after leaving child in hot van

GRANTS, N.M. — A day care accused of leaving a child in a van, while it was parked for hours on a hot day at Cliff’s Amusement Park, is making changes.

KOB 4 obtained a message Small and Wondrous Child Development Center sent to families. They said they’ve lost staff because of what happened and will no longer be transporting students until further notice.

Workers are accused of leaving a 5-year-old child in the van on a day that nearly topped 100 degrees. The child is okay but the incident sparked backlash from the family and workers at the day care…
