Albuquerque firefighters respond to early morning structure fire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire near the intersection of San Mateo Blvd. and Zuni Rd. early Tuesday morning. Crews arrived on scene and reported a working outside fire with flame impingement onto residential structure.

Crews deployed special rescue techniques due to the belief people may have been trapped inside the building. After a search of the building, crews confirmed there were no people trapped inside. Officials say additional units arrived on scene and the fire was brought under control. Officials say damage was primarily limited to the outside of the building, with minor damage to the inside.

No firefighters were injured, one civilian was treated for minor injuries. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire…
