ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The City of Albuquerque is enforcing an ordinance that allows officials to confiscate animals from people found to be selling pets on public property.
After Albuquerque City Councilors approved changes to the HEART ordinance, the city is ready to enforce the changes. The changes specify public property as sidewalks, streets, parks and parking lots – and they now give officers the authority to seize animals being sold or given away on public property.
