Woman found dead in far west Albuquerque, homicide investigation underway

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in far west Albuquerque late on Monday, Aug. 11. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that her death is being investigated as a homicide on Thursday, Aug. 14.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of 12232 High Mesa Drive Northwest near the Water Authority Tower at 11:51 p.m. that Monday. Upon arriving, deputies spoke to the reporting party. They found an unresponsive woman on the side of a dirt arroyo. She was declared dead on the scene, and later identified by the Office of the Medical Investigator as Bianca Ruiz, 36.
