ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Within the last few years, major pharmacy chains have closed in one of Albuquerque’s lower-income districts, but now a new independent pharmacy has moved in to fill the gap left behind.

“So many people reaching out, and it just felt like, hey, we should do something about it,” said Jeremy Ma, manager of Sandia Pharmacy.
In the heart of Albuquerque’s International District, an independent pharmacy is hoping to fill a growing need for affordable prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
