Man accused of killing Uber driver appears in court for separate charges

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of shooting and killing his Uber driver was in court Wednesday for separate charges. Sheliky Sanchez Jr. is already being held behind bars for the charges connected to the killing.

New Mexico man accused of assaulting, strangling a woman

Sanchez Jr. is accused of pointing a gun at his seven-year-old half-brother in May. According to the criminal complaint, Sanchez Jr. was drinking at his grandmother’s home in northwest Albuquerque. Detectives said the child told them Sanchez Jr. put a gun to the center of his head and told him not to tell anyone. He’s facing charges for aggravated assault, child abuse, and bribery of a witness. Judge Brett Loveless ruled Sanchez Jr. to be held behind bars for these charges.
