ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A jury has reached a verdict in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a homeless person, then bragging about it. Joshua Dickens was found not guilty of murder and tampering with evidence.

Dickens was arrested last May and charged with shooting and killing Eric Purley at the bus stop on Central Ave. and Louisiana Blvd. During his trial, the state claimed video showed Dickens was the shooter and that witnesses told police he was bragging about it. The defense said this was self-defense. On Monday, he was found not guilty of those charges.
Dickens is still facing charges for armed robbery after police said he robbed two businesses at knifepoint a month before Purley’s killing. He is expected to appear in court for those charges at the end of September…
