Man accused of Albuquerque parking spot shooting to remain behind bars

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The man accused of a deadly shooting over a parking spot will remain behind bars. Police say David Casarez, 38, shot and killed Carlos Ochoa after a dispute on Friday night at Effingbar and Grill on Sequoia near Coors.

Casarez claims he did it in self defense. He is a facing a count of murder and five counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Judge Jennifer Wernersbach granted the state’s motion for pretrial detention, meaning Casarez will remain behind bars…
