New Mexico Operation Route 66 Nets More Than 1,000 Arrests Since February

Albuquerque, NM – A sweeping crime-fighting initiative across Bernalillo County has resulted in more than 1,000 arrests since February, authorities announced Friday.

According to the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office, “Operation Route 66” is a joint law enforcement effort targeting dangerous offenders in the Albuquerque area. The ongoing operation involves the New Mexico State Police, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and New Mexico Corrections Probation and Parole, working alongside prosecutors.

Officials reported 1,049 total arrests, including 364 arrests with pending cases and 310 probation violation arrests. Authorities said 651 individuals with active warrants were taken into custody. Among the arrests, 11 were connected to homicide-related charges…
